Why Support UCP?
Individuals with cerebral palsy and other disabilities deserve every opportunity to live life to the fullest. UCP strives to make that happen.
The grants are distributed via local affiliates through annual funding allocated by UCP.An estimated 67 million people in the U.S. live with a disability. Some need a lot of support, others only a little…but all deserve to live a life without limits.65% of people UCP serves have disabilities other than cerebral palsy.
Among U.S. adults, 1 in 4 – or 67 million people – live with some type of disability, one-third of U.S. households have someone with a disability. Among people 65 and older, 2 in 5 have a disability, 1 in 4 women have a disability, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). About 6.5 million people have neurodevelopmental disabilities (IDDs), such as Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, epilepsy or autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) UCP has been providing services for people with disabilities for more than 73 years.
