Legislative Policy Agenda for the 118th Congress

The Legislative Policy Agenda for the 118th Congress is rooted in the belief that every person with a disability deserves the opportunity to be full and active participants in our democratic society.

UCP works closely to advance this agenda with our following national partners: The Arc, the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AAIDD), the American Network of Community Options and Resources (ANCOR), Autism Society of America (ASA), Autistic Self Advocacy Network (ASAN), Easterseals, the National Association of Councils on Developmental Disabilities (NACDD), and TASH.

As noted in the opening section of the Legislative Policy Agenda: “For decades, Congress took important steps to affirm and secure the right of people with disabilities to a life in the community and to achieve that vision. We must continue that forward movement. The vision is based on social justice and civil rights and is also affordable … People with disabilities want to live, learn, work, pay taxes, and be productive and fully included in their communities …
