Janeen Latin’s journey with United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) Central Pennsylvania stands as a powerful reflection of her lifelong commitment to enhancing the lives of individuals of all abilities. With over 20 years of leadership experience, Janeen has been a driving force behind UCP’s mission, spearheading innovative strategies that prioritize person-centered support, advocate for disability rights, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, inclusive services across Pennsylvania.
Her role extends beyond the organization, as she also serves on the UCP National Board of Trustees, further amplifying her influence and advocacy on a national level.
From Volunteer to Visionary

Janeen began her UCP journey in 1997 as a volunteer, where her deep empathy and connection with families quickly made her an invaluable asset to the organization. Recognizing her potential, UCP brought her on board to lead Family Support and Assistive Technology programs — roles that became cornerstones of her advocacy work. Between 1999 and 2004, she championed access to life-changing assistive technologies and shared her expertise nationwide.
Strategic Leadership That Drives Growth
Her impact grew as she moved into UCP’s development department in 2005, helping secure vital funding and expand outreach. By 2013, as executive director of the UCP Foundation, she oversaw marketing, communications, and fundraising, laying the groundwork for unprecedented organizational growth.
Appointed president and CEO in 2019, Janeen’s leadership has elevated UCP Central Pennsylvania from a $35M to a $62M operation, now serving over 2,200 individuals with a dedicated team of 1,705 staff.
A Personal Connection to the Mission
Janeen’s leadership is profoundly shaped by her experience as a parent of two young adults with intellectual disabilities and autism. This personal connection fuels her commitment to person-centered care and drives her to cultivate a compassionate, listening-centered organizational culture.
“I lead with empathy and emotional intelligence,” Janeen shares. “Being a parent in this community adds depth to every decision I make — it’s not just professional; it’s personal.”
Building Inclusive Communities and Policy Change
Outside of UCP, Janeen has played a vital role in expanding inclusive recreational and advocacy initiatives through her board work with Community Carepoint and the Pennsylvania Disability Advocacy Fund. Projects like the Adventure Zone accessible playground and Adventure Fitness exemplify her hands-on approach to community impact.
