A member of the United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) National Board of Trustees, Jerry contributes his expertise to help guide the organization’s strategic vision and amplify its impact nationwide. Jerry spent 19 years as general agent at The Washington Group of MassMutual, where he led clients through complex financial decision-making with empathy and precision. His post-retirement journey led him to found The Washington Group Special Care Planning Team, a boutique firm exclusively serving families of individuals with disabilities.

His goal? To provide integrated, long-term financial solutions that consider legal needs, public benefits, and overall family planning. “There is no central place families can go,” Jerry notes, “So we created a team that brings everything together in one plan.”

Consulting for Corporate Inclusion and Community Impact

In 2014, Jerry expanded his mission by founding Caring Consulting Group, where he works with corporations, nonprofits, and educational institutions to improve disability inclusion and awareness. From workforce integration to accessible financial services, Jerry helps organizations create more equitable and responsive environments for individuals with disabilities.

His consulting work has directly led to increased employment opportunities and inclusive product development — changing not only policies but also corporate cultures.

A Trailblazer in Special Needs Financial Advocacy

Jerry is among the first professionals in the U.S. to earn the Chartered Special Needs Consultant designation from The American College. He also sits on the Advisory Board for the College’s Center for Special Needs, reinforcing his status as a national authority on disability-centered financial strategy.

“Planning isn’t just about money — it’s about peace of mind and building a future with dignity,” says Jerry.

His expertise has been featured in national conferences, radio shows, and advocacy forums, where he passionately speaks on the financial realities and solutions available to the disability community.

A proud alumnus of Virginia Tech, Jerry actively supports the university’s Autism Research Center and funds scholarships for students pursuing disability-related fields.
